"She who walks alone"
This piece is of special meaning to me.
It was my first painting ever sold.
The following is an absolute real story - I hope it can inspire some of you: I was stuck in a time of fiancial need, and urgently needed about 400€ to move foreward with an investment that could potentially open my way into a small buisness. Having no other possibility left, I decided to trust the only thing I knew I was good at - painting.
So I sat down and meditated for a long time - or, not meditating, but more imagining and contemplating about my desired wish: "I will paint a picture, and sell it."
It was a hard fight. My thoughts constantly telling me doubts: "You have never sold a painting - why should you now ?" "You are not good enough." "This will not work"
It was a real struggle to sit, and constantly "pushing" this thoughts away. It did not feel like "spiritual" but acutally quite "physical" - like stopping a stream, and turn it into the other direction: "I WILL paint a picture !" "I WILL sell this picture !" "And I WILL have the money I need !"
I really sat there for hours, imagining the reality and trying to "feel" it: That I have painted my first picture, and sold it.
After a time - I dont know how long, but it seemed to be hours - I got to work. I choose a little thumbnail in my sketchbook that resonated with me - a woman, walking her "own path" in a forrest - and painted this picture from it.
I uploaded it to deviant-art - and it magically got picked by a staffmember to be "daily deviation". The next morning, I got a private message from a lady in sweden, who saw my painting in the "daily deviation", telling me that she loves the painting, and would like to buy it, if she could afford.
I was a bit hesitant, but finally got the guts to ask her of 400€ - she happily payed it. I used the money to buy the tools I needed, and started the small buisness, that sustains me up to this date... ( www.luna-handpan.com )
After 10+ years, I finally want to turn more attention back to what I really love - art.
Allways trust your dreams. Follow your own path, and dont be afraid if you need to walk a little bit alone.
Faith.
